Automotive & OEM Development

European vehicle development for global OEMs.

Chassis development, vehicle dynamics, testing, validation and Customer Perceived Performance, developed on the roads and in the conditions your European customers actually experience.

Why European development matters

A car can be right everywhere and still feel wrong here.

European roads, usage conditions and customer expectations create their own engineering targets. Steering feel, ride comfort, handling, braking, powertrain response and driver-assistance behaviour all contribute to how the vehicle is perceived.

RacingSyn combines objective engineering data with structured subjective evaluation to identify where a vehicle differs from European expectations and translate that judgement into development actions.

We support global manufacturers, including Chinese OEMs, developing and adapting vehicles for the European market.

The development process

Characterise. Target. Tune & Test. Validate.

  1. 01

    Characterise

Understand where the vehicle stands on European roads and against relevant benchmarks before development begins.

  2. 02

    Target

Define the required vehicle attributes and the objective and subjective development targets with the customer team.

  3. 03

    Tune & Test

Develop chassis, steering, braking, powertrain and other vehicle attributes through iterative testing, measurement and correlation.

  4. 04

    Validate

Confirm performance, durability, functionality and market suitability under representative European roads, proving grounds and usage conditions.

What we do

Develop for European customers, not only European specifications.

    European Development & Market Adaptation

European roads, usage conditions and customer expectations are translated into engineering targets and development actions. The scope can range from an initial vehicle characterisation and benchmark study to a complete European tuning and validation programme.

    Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics

Suspension kinematics and compliance, damping, steering, ride and handling developed around objective targets and structured subjective judgement. RacingSyn can support both clean-sheet chassis development and the refinement of an existing global platform for European roads.

    Customer Perceived Performance & Drivability

Structured subjective evaluation by very experienced test drivers, supported by objective data and European benchmarking. Steering feel, brake feel, accelerator response, transmission behaviour, powertrain drivability, ride, handling and driver-assistance behaviour are assessed as attributes of one complete vehicle.

    Testing & Validation in Europe

Road and proving-ground programmes covering durability, functional validation, drivability, ADAS and vehicle behaviour under European usage conditions. RacingSyn can provide test drivers, engineers, instrumentation, route planning, issue reproduction, reporting and development follow-up.

    Specialist Engineering Support

Experienced vehicle dynamics engineers, test engineers and subjective test drivers, integrated into the development activity in Europe for the phase in which their expertise is needed. CAD, FEA and CFD specialists when a solution has to be engineered, not only identified.

Subjective meets objective

What the driver feels has to match what the data says.

Poor correlation between subjective feedback and objective engineering targets is a common reason development programmes lose direction. Our test drivers and engineers work to the same attribute targets, combining structured subjective ratings with objective measurements and repeatable test conditions.

  • Structured evaluation protocols and repeatable manoeuvres
  • Objective measurements correlated with subjective ratings where relevant
  • Relevant European competitor benchmarks
  • Clear technical reporting for development engineers

When the data and the driver's perception disagree, understanding why is part of the development process.

How we work

From a single evaluation to a complete development programme.

RacingSyn can support one vehicle attribute, a focused European evaluation or a broader development and validation programme.

Technical questions

What OEMs ask before they call.

Our vehicle behaves well at home. Why would it feel wrong in Europe?

European roads, usage conditions and customer expectations create a different set of vehicle attributes. Steering, ride, handling, braking, powertrain response and driver-assistance behaviour may all be perceived differently. These differences are not always visible in a specification: they become clear through structured evaluation and benchmarking on representative European roads.

Can you evaluate a vehicle without our engineers present?

Yes. RacingSyn can independently evaluate and characterise a vehicle and provide structured technical reporting that your engineering team can act on. Findings are supported by defined evaluation protocols, objective measurements where appropriate, benchmark comparisons and clear reports on development recommendations.

How do you correlate subjective feedback and objective targets?

Subjective evaluation is carried out using defined attributes, repeatable manoeuvres and structured rating criteria. Where relevant, those ratings are correlated with objective measurements such as K&C, steering, ride, acceleration, braking or vehicle-response data. When the subjective judgement and the objective data do not agree, that difference becomes part of the engineering investigation.

Do you work with Chinese manufacturers?

Yes. Great Wall Motor is a public RacingSyn reference for European vehicle development and Customer Perceived Performance. We support Chinese and other global OEMs developing or adapting vehicles for Europe, working in English and collaborating directly with engineering teams across different countries and time zones.

Can you support only one vehicle attribute or subsystem?

Yes. The scope can range from a focused evaluation or development activity, for example steering feel, chassis tuning, braking, drivability or benchmarking, to a broader European development and validation programme. The engineering organisation is built around the scope actually required.
